A ten-year-old kid in Cleveland apparently got tired of building amusement parks on Minecraft or whatever ten-year-olds do and decided to kick things up a notch by stealing the family car and taking police on a high-speed chase, the Washington Post reports.
The boy snagged the car keys at around 8:30 AM on Thursday morning and took off toward the Ohio Turnpike. When his mother realized what had happened, she dove into her own car and sped after him.

“I need the police,” the woman told a 911 operator from her driver’s seat, according to audio obtained by FOX 8. “My ten-year-old stole his dad’s car, and he’s running from me right now. He’s already crashed, and he’s going towards the friggin’ highway.”
Cops eventually caught up to the kid’s silver sedan on a highway outside of Cleveland. Ohio police lieutenant Richard Reeder told Cleveland.com that officers sped up alongside the boy and motioned for him to pull over, but the kid shook his head and floored the gas. During the chase, 911 dispatchers received a number of calls from other concerned drivers who found themselves sharing the road with the miniature speed demon.
“There seems to be what looks to be a child driving a silver Infinity with, I don’t know if it’s like their mother or somebody almost chasing them down in a red SUV,” one driver told the local police, according to FOX 8.
“The kid’s, like, swerving in and out of traffic, and almost run a couple cars off the road,” another caller said. “He’s swerving in and out of lanes like crazy.”
The unnamed boy hit speeds of nearly 100 MPH, careening around the road and eventually off into a grassy ditch to dodge a line of spikes the cops had laid down. At one point, he jumped a median and started going against highway traffic. Police finally forced him to a stop thanks to a gentle PIT maneuver.
Cops dragged the boy, kicking and spitting, out of the sedan and took him into custody, Lieutenant Reeder said. The Baby Driver wannabe dragged his joyride out for almost an hour and covered a distance of 45 miles, before reportedly telling police he took the car because he was “bored.”
“He was a good driver for being ten years old,” an eyewitness explained to Ohio local news, according to the Post. “He was three feet tall. He was a very short kid. I don’t see how he even looked over the steering wheel.”
This isn’t the first time the kid took the family car for a little illegal spin, either—last week, the same boy apparently snagged the car keys and went for a drive down I-90 until three flat tires forced him to pull over.
