When Seeking Treatment for Opioid Addiction Leaves You Homeless

On 'DOPESICK NATION,' Frankie Holmes meets Chris, a man who went to South Florida to get treatment for his heroin addiction and ended up on the streets.

Chris, a young father, bought a ticket to Florida in order to seek treatment for his addiction. But when he got there, he learned that getting help wasn't as easy as he thought, and ended up stranded miles away from home and forced to live on the streets. His story is all too common in South Florida, one of the major epicenters of the opioid crisis, where people go to attend one of the area's many rehabilitation centers only to be turned away when their insurance can't cover the substantial costs.
