Last week, Dallas played host to a series of events celebrating hip-hop both local and not-quite-so-local under the banner of #DallasWeek. Among the many performers over the week was Post Malone, of “White Iverson” fame, a Dallas native who has since moved away. His headlining show at Trees was therefore a bit of a homecoming, and the crowd responded appropriately. Several other burgeoning local acts—including Sigh, Devy Stonez, and G.U.N.—helped get things started and encourage the general turn up. As the city sits on the cusp of a musical breakthrough, the show stood as a landmark event for local talent. Photographer Karlo Ramos was on the scene, capturing everything.
