Deretan Potret Alam Merebut Bangunan Modern Menjuarai Kompetisi Foto Bergengsi

Seniman dengan nama alias Jonk menjuarai kontes Earth Photo 2020 yang bergengsi. Seri fotonya, Coffee Shop, Abkhazia; Hotel, Portugal; Swimming Pool, Italy and Theater, Abkhazia–menampilkan berbagai bangunan modern tua yang kini berbalik dikuasai lagi oleh alam–terpilih sebagai juara umum sekaligus menjadi juara kategori potret lokasi.

Jonk, fotografer freelance otodidak bernama asli Jonathan Jimenez, berusaha menghadirkan wacana soal relasi pemahaman spasial manusia yang sebetulnya sering takluk dengan alam. Dia ingin seri fotonya bisa mengingatkan publik mengenai krisis ekologi yang sedang dialami Bumi.

Earth Photo adalah kompetisi internasional yang digelar oleh Forestry England dan the Royal Geographical Society. Kompetisi ini meminta para peserta menghadirkan karya-karya fotografi yang bisa memantik diskusi seputar planet kita dan interaksi alam dengan para penghuninya, terutama manusia.

“Juri sepakat foto-foto Jonk layak disebut sebagai juara umum, karena visi dan kematangan teknis karyanya. Foto-foto ini menggambarkan uniknya hubungan manusia dengan alam,” kata ketua juri, Marissa Roth, jurnalis foto yang pernah menjadi juara Pulitzer.

Kalian bisa melihat foto para pemenang lain dalam deretan foto-foto di bawah. Ada 50 fotografi yang masuk babak final penjurian, dari total 2.600 foto kiriman para peserta berbagai negara.
