Jeremy Suyker and Nicolas Leblanc are two French photographers whose work takes them to faraway places, while the rest of us sit in our cubicles, molding perfectly outlined butt-prints into the seats of our faux-leather chairs.
For their latest photo adventure, they travelled to Transnistria, a nascent republic wedged between Ukraine and Moldovia that is heavily subsidised with questionable funds from Russia. The breakaway state has its share of unsettled geopolitics – including the fact that much of the international community doesn’t recognise it as a sovereign nation.
Oh well, this photo series is not about Transnistria’s identity crisis – it’s about babes. In this selection, Jeremy and Nicolas navigate streets of Transnistria’s capital, Tiraspol, capturing the most fetching ladies to never grace the pages of your favourite street style blog. They’re caught at daytime ceremonies, nighttime foam raves and even walking their horses.
For a country whose currency and passports aren’t recognised abroad, even the haughtiest international political dignitaries would have to concede that the women of Transnistria are total knock-outs.
