Sometimes UK dance music can be a bit of a nerdy place, lots of guys in snapbacks peering over DJ booths and talking about BPMs. Katy B is our favourite popstar in Britain because she lives and breathes club music: not just the technicalities of its construction, but how it makes you feel when you’re snogging someone in the back room of Cable or watching your bank balance flicks from red to black on the last Friday of the month.
Her new video for “What Love Is Made Of” premeiered last week. It’s full of lads in chrome-rimmed whips doing doughnuts round an industrial estate. Katy’s given Noisey an exclusive first look at how the video was made. It’s sort of like MTV’s Making The Video, but obviously it isn’t like that at all for copyright reasons.
